The At Home with Diversity course addresses the topics of diversity, fair housing and business planning development. After successfully completing the course, REALTORS® are eligible to apply for the official AHWD certification, which conveys to clients they're working with a dynamic real estate professional with expertise that transcends cultural barriers. ABOUT THE COURSE: - Assess and understand attributes of diversity in local markets and their impact on the real estate industry. - Understand basic competencies to earn the confidence of potential buyers and sellers, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, handicaps, familial status, or nation origin. - Build a business plan that minimizes risk and successfully services all types of clients. She holds a M.A. Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction as well as equivalent coursework in Education Administration. She has worked extensively in adult education and enjoys creating challenging and delivering engaging curriculum both in Massachusetts, North Carolina and Virginia.After retiring from public school administration, Tanya indulged her love of real estate and became an agent herself. Soon afterwards she began teaching new agent onboarding for a large firm in the Raleigh area and realized that she could combine her love of real estate with her love of teaching and soon after became a licensed RE instructor in North Carolina and later Virginia.Tanya is currently education director at the Albemarle Area School of Real estate and also teaches real estate courses for a number of local REALTOR® associations and specializes in diversity, equity and inclusion courses. Course Cancellation Policy: The Albemarle Area Association of REALTORS® reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a course as needed. Students enrolled in a rescheduled or cancelled course will be given a minimum 7 days’ notice of the cancellation or revised course schedule.
